Raikamal is a writer and researcher with a background in literature and social anthropology. She has worked in policy, advocacy, legal, and business research. At Vihara, she has managed projects on independent living for people with disabilities, and contraceptive use in Mumbai and Delhi. Before Vihara, Raikamal managed and executed a legal research project at National Law University Delhi's Centre for Comparative Law, collected oral histories of partition survivors, and critically monitored government of India's policy making as part of the National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People. She holds an MPhil in Social Sciences from Centre for Studies in Social Sciences, Calcutta; a Master's in Sociology from Delhi School of Economics; and a Bachelor's in English from St. Stephen's College, Delhi.
